The Tri-State Academy of Legal Studies in Business is a regional chapter of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business: http://alsb.mobi/

The core goals of the ALSB are:
  • To provide a home for colleagues who teach law in business programs - a place of support and sharing of teaching and research - and for others who share our core ideology;
  • To assure that law is recognized as foundational to markets and to business and is incorporated in the curricula for business and management students; and
  • To promote the stature of business law education to our many publics by articulating law's value as a positive force in management and in society.

The Tri-State chapter of the ALSB includes
Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. However, all teachers of business law from any state are welcome at our annual conference.

This year, 2012, your conference theme this year is "The Long Arm of the Law: Connections to Business
Studies" and we are inviting all business disciplines with law-related topics to present. We will have research presentations (partially completed papers), paper presentations, student poster presentations, our 2nd Annual Master Teacher Presentation, “Best Paper” award and other events still in the planning stages. There will be a monetary award for the Master Teacher Presentation winner!

This is a great opportunity to interact with your colleagues not only in legal studies but other disciplines.  If you have not attended one of our regional conferences in the past, please come to see what you have been missing. You will not be disappointed. On behalf of the Tri-State, we hope you will honor us with your presence at the conference.

In the coming weeks, we will be posting additional information under the drop down menu  "2012 Annual Conference" . This will include registration information, a schedule of events, our call for participation, and travel information.

If you have any questions or suggestions about the conference, please contact me directly at the telephone, email or regular mail addresses noted below. I hope to see you all in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on September 21, 2012. Please join us.

Sincerely,
